  • 1 block extra-firm tofu (14 oz)
  • 2 tablespoons white miso paste
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce or tamari
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon sriracha or chili paste
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Press the tofu for at least 30 minutes to remove excess moisture.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together miso paste, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, maple syrup, ginger, garlic, and sriracha if using.
  3. Break the pressed tofu into 1-inch chunks and marinate in the mixture for at least 15 minutes.
  4. Coat the marinated tofu in cornstarch and drizzle with neutral oil.
  5. Air fry at 450°F for about 10 minutes, shaking halfway through until golden and crispy.
  6. Serve hot topped with sesame seeds and sliced scallions.
