  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon instant yeast
  • ¾ cup warm water
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup cooked chicken ham, diced
  • ½ cup turkey bacon, cooked and chopped
  • ½ cup diced bell peppers
  • ½ cup sliced mushrooms
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, sugar, and instant yeast.
  2. Create a well in the center; add warm water and olive oil. Stir until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8–10 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover it, and let it rise for 1–1.5 hours until doubled in size.
  5. Cook turkey bacon until crispy; chop chicken ham and prepare vegetables.
  6. Mix filling ingredients in a bowl.
  7. Punch down the risen dough and divide it into six equal portions; roll each into a circle about six inches wide.
  8. Fill one half of each circle with filling; fold over and crimp edges with a fork.
  9. Brush tops with beaten egg for shine.
  10. Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Cook calzones in batches for 12–15 minutes until golden brown.
