Ingredients
- 8 slices of bread (sourdough or your choice)
- 2 tablespoons butter, softened
- 8 slices of cheese (sharp cheddar or your favorite)
- 6 slices of bacon
- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add sliced onions and sprinkle with salt. Cook until translucent (5-7 minutes).
- Stir in brown sugar and balsamic vinegar, lower heat, and cook until deeply caramelized (15-20 minutes). Set aside.
- In another skillet, cook bacon over medium heat until crispy. Drain on paper towels.
- Preheat a griddle or nonstick skillet over medium-low heat. Butter one side of each bread slice.
