  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornmeal (optional)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill
  • 1 teaspoon parsley
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 12 tablespoons milk (to adjust consistency)

Instructions

  1. Make the ranch dressing by whisking together mayonnaise, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, dill, and parsley. Adjust consistency with milk; refrigerate.
  2. In one bowl, combine flour, cornmeal (if using), garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. In another bowl, whisk eggs and milk.
  3. Dip mushroom slices in egg mixture then coat with the flour mixture. Let rest for 5 minutes.
  4. Heat oil in a deep skillet to 350°F (175°C). Fry mushrooms in batches until golden brown (about 2-3 minutes). Drain on paper towels.
