- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons vanilla extract
- 7 tablespoons butter, chilled and cubed
- 1/3 cup honey
- 5 tablespoons buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon red gel food coloring
- Nutella for spreading
- Approximately 12 marshmallows for roasting
Instructions
- In a stand mixer bowl, combine flour, cocoa, brown sugar, baking soda, and salt until blended.
- Add butter cubes and mix until crumbly.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together honey, buttermilk, and food coloring. Combine with the dry mixture to form a dough.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick. Cut into desired shapes.
- Bake on a lined sheet at 350°F for 6–8 minutes. Cool on a wire rack until firm.
- Spread Nutella on one cookie, roast marshmallows over an open flame until golden brown, then sandwich between two cookies.
